Update in response to the business reply:
I understand the point regarding responsibility for the road tax as of 1 January and I am not questioning that legal aspect. My issue is different: before and after the sale, I asked repeatedly (including about the road tax) what had been completed or what I still needed to do, as I am not familiar with the process in Spain. I was told on several occasions that everything had been taken care of (which is also reflected in the WhatsApp conversation) and now I get a bill. Also, despite multiple requests, I have still not received any document confirming that the vehicle is no longer registered in my name.
Regarding the phone call, I was simply seeking clarification after not receiving responses to my calls. I stated that I would otherwise come to the shop in person to resolve the matter and I was called back shortly after.
Communication and customer service throughout this process have been very poor.

Original issue:
I sold my car to this company in November 2025. Before and after the sale, I repeatedly asked for information and documentation to make sure everything had been completed correctly, as I am not familiar with the car sale process in Spain. I specifically asked about the remaining road tax too and whether there was anything I still needed to do myself. Each time, I was assured that they would take care of everything, but I never received any proof or documentation confirming that the transfer process had been completed properly.

In 2026, I unexpectedly received a road tax bill for 2025 related to the vehicle. When I contacted the company to understand what had happened, the conversation became emotional and ended in a very unprofessional manner, including the call being hung up on me.

I understand that mistakes can happen, but proper communication and documentation after a vehicle sale are important, especially for foreign customers unfamiliar with the local system. To this day, I still have no overview of what actions were actually completed regarding the transfer of the vehicle.

Mucho cuidado con esta genre. No son honesto.
Antes se llamaban RS2.
Han cambiado varias veces de nombre en los últimos años. Se puede ver parte del histórico en GoogleMaps.
Cuando acumulan muchas demandas, cambian de empresas.
Evitar comprar ahí si no quieres tener disgustos.
Quiero reiterar que empresarios como estos deberían de desaparecer y sobretodo ser sancionados duramente por sus métodos de trabajo totalmente abusivos.
Be very careful when dealing with these people. They're dishonest.
They used to be called RS2.
They have changed their name several times in recent years. You can see some of the history on GoogleMaps.
When they accumulate many demands, they change companies.
Avoid buying from them if you don't want to be unpleasant.
I want to reiterate that employers like these should disappear and above all be severely punished for their totally abusive working methods.

I can fully recommend Coches Direct Marbella for good quality second hand cars I first met Adam who was very helpful to me in selecting my perfect car but was missing a parcel shelf which his manager ordered a new replacement and dealt with all the required paper work with no problems.

I bought them a car over a year ago when they were called RS2.
The car had a problem which I observed the same day it was delivered to me. The solution of the problem cost me over 5.000€ for a 15.000€ used vehicle (33% of the price).
When I complain, they told me I had a guarantee. But this type of guarantee works when the problem occurs after using the car, not when it is delivered. As professionals they should have checked the car before selling it.
After over 3 months waiting for a compromise, when my layer called them, they said the company in question didn't exist anymore. But when I went there, they were the same people and the same stock.
This it what I call a scam.

I have just seen the owner's response and it shows their bad faith. It's exactly what they told the layer: "we're another company".
They changed the name of the company to avoid the consequences of their scam. Avoid this company by all means.
I've posted pictures of the place as it was in 2022 (RS2) and as it looks like now (Coches Direct Marbella).
Different company name, but same place, same, people, same scam.
Don't complain if you're cheated, you've been advised.
